BAM is seeking an innovative, driven self-starter for a Network Engineer position. This technical role requires advanced engineering experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting a highly available global network infrastructure. The hire will work on a wide array of networking technologies and enable BAM to grow and scale into the future. The candidate will embody a mindset of continuous learning and process improvement. A basic understanding of financial markets and trade lifecycles is a plus.
As a Network Engineer at BAM, you will:
- Design, implement, and maintain a multi-vendor global trading network
- Connect BAM’s offices, datacenters, market data providers, trade brokers and public cloud providers.
- Work with, and help extend, an intent driven network automation framework
- Have access to the latest AI models and tools
- Manage the firewall infrastructure and proactively work to improve network security.
- Work closely with technology and investment teams to understand their requirements and provide solutions that align with business needs
- Perform network capacity planning to ensure network scales to meet the demands of the business
- Define and implement standards and best practices
- Act as an escalation point for troubleshooting network and security issues
- Participate in a 24/7 on call rotation and out of hours network maintenance

To be considered a good technical fit, you must have:
- Expert knowledge of network protocols, including BGP, OSPF, PIM, and IGMP
- Solid understanding of spine-leaf topologies and large scale data center network designs
- Experience working with market data providers and colocation facilities.
- Experience working with Palo Alto firewalls and network security in general.
- Good understanding of networking in public cloud environments, particularly AWS and Azure
- Experience working with network automation and automation tools: Netbox, Ansible, Jinja, Python, Git, Netconf, Restconf, Temporal, Terraform
- The ability to troubleshoot complex network issues
Bonus Points for:
- Experience with modern observability tools and protocols: Prometheus, Grafana, Telegraf, Cisco Telemetry, gNMI, YANG
- Good understanding of Cisco Meraki solutions
- Knowledge of enterprise voice including Cisco CUCM, Zoom Phone, WebEx Calling and Cloud9
