The D. E. Shaw group seeks an experienced site reliability engineer (SRE) to join its SRE team. This team is involved in engineering and supporting the firm’s critical infrastructure platforms. They also manage the centralized development infrastructure and partner with engineering teams to advocate and educate on the optimal use of the firm’s systems to build high performing, reliable, and scalable applications. This is a hands-on technical role that offers the opportunity to be part of a collegial, collaborative, and engaging working environment.

Ensure the scalability, reliability, and observability of our systems to maintain and improve the firm’s core infrastructure environment.
Lead a range of engineering projects, from developing proprietary platforms for configuration management and monitoring, to implementing open source and vendor software for orchestration and automation tooling.
Participate in incident management and drive strategic solutions to troubleshoot complex technical problems.
Collaborate with engineering teams across the firm and provide technical mentorship to other members of the SRE team.
