The D. E. Shaw group seeks a skilled writing coach to join its Learning & Development (L&D) team, which helps the firm’s talent excel through customized learning offerings. The writing center within L&D offers classes, individualized coaching and consulting, and other resources to staff across the firm to strengthen their writing skills. Writing coaches gain deep insight into the firm’s businesses and operations while working in a collegial and dynamic environment.

Work one-on-one with colleagues in many different roles and at all levels of seniority to help them improve their professional, financial, and technical writing skills.
Consult with teams to advise on complex write-ups and proposals.
Help colleagues learn how to create and refine work that meets the firm’s high standards within our rigorous, writing-heavy culture.
