Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) is a global quantitative and systematic investment manager. Our environment includes both on-premise infrastructure and AWS, with heavy focus on standardization, automation, and Kubernetes. We are looking for an experienced Data Platform Engineer to join our DevOps team in Paris. This role is fully on-site and focuses on reliability and scalability of production data systems. Your future role: This role sits in the intersection of data engineering and infrastructure, focused on robust, high-performance data platforms. Key responsibilities: Ensuring reliability and performance of production data systems (ClickHouse, CockroachDB, Trino, etc.) Designing and operating database clusters on Kubernetes (via operators) Building and maintaining data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, replication) Driving marshalling infrastructure as code (Mina, Terraform) Operating storage and data platforms on-prem (VAST) and AWS (S3, EMR, MSK, RDS, EKS) Managing Docker images and CI/CD for data services Maintaining AWS IAM policies and permission Troubleshooting across the entire stack (databases, OS, storage, networking) Implementing observability (metrics, alerting, capacity planning) Collaboration with engineering and research teams Your present skills: -5+ years in DevOps, Data Platform Engineering or similar. -Experience with distributed data systems (ClickHouse, Trino, Data, Hive) -Strong Kubernetes experience (stateful services, Helm, operators) -Solid infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm) experience. -Good knowledge of AWS data ecosystem (S3, EKS, EMR, MSK, RDS) -Experience with AWS IAM and security best practices. -Hands-on experience with Docker and CI/CD. -Experience with data pipelines (Kafka, Spark, Airflow). -Strong Linux fundamentals and scripting (Python/Bash). -Understanding of database reliability (replication, backups, failover). Nice to have: -OLAP/high-throughput systems experience. -Experience with VAST Data storage systems. -Familiarity with Iceberg, Delta Lake,../ and open source data. -Observability (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry). -GitOps (ArgoCD, Flux). -CKA or strong Kubernetes expertise. -Programming in Go, Rust, and Ugg. - Strong programming in Python/Bash.
