Job Description
The Investment Associate role will be based in Brookfield’s New York office and report to the Managing Director, Investments. Brookfield’s Energy group is responsible for investments on behalf of our $20 billion flagship Brookfield Global Transition Fund (BGTF), Brookfield’s publicly listed energy affiliate (BEP/BEPC), as well as energy-related investments across Brookfield’s other strategies including our flagship Infrastructure fund (BIF), AI Infrastructure Fund (BAIIF), and Catalytic Transition Fund (CTF) among others.
Over the past five years, we have deployed more than $30 billion of equity capital globally across acquisitions and development opportunities in renewable power and sustainable solutions. Looking ahead, several global trends continue to positively shape the investment landscape, creating meaningful opportunities to expand our energy and infrastructure portfolios.
In partnership with investment teams across New York and Toronto, the Investment Associate will be an integral contributor to the evaluation and execution of these opportunities across our managed funds and portfolio companies.
The role will support a broad range of growth initiatives, including M&A, project development, strategic partnerships, and other strategic investment opportunities.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Build financial models, valuation analyses and investment materials to support transaction evaluation and decision-making.
- Conduct company, sector and market research to assess investment theses, trends, risks, value drivers and transaction outcomes.
- Coordinate with internal teams, portfolio companies, operating partners and external advisors in support of due diligence workstreams.
- Support post-investment business planning, value creation and decarbonization initiatives.
- Prepare presentation materials and transaction documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to a disciplined, collaborative and performance-oriented team culture.
- Conduct special projects and other responsibilities, as required.
Key Qualifications
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, infrastructure investing, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Strong financial modeling, valuation and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to independently manage multiple priorities.
- Sound commercial judgment and attention to detail.
- Interest in energy, infrastructure, industrials, and the energy transition; experience in energy, power, infrastructure, industrials, or project finance considered an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability and desire to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
