The D. E. Shaw group seeks a people analytics professional to join its Human Capital (HC) Analytics team as a research associate. Members of HC Analytics are curators of employee data and leverage it to help answer strategic and operational talent questions for leaders across the business. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a collegial, collaborative, and engaging work environment.
Responsibilities:
Use inferential statistics and social science research methods to conduct internal studies for business leaders, enabling them to make data-informed decisions about their people.
Run analyses with people data, write reports that weave insights together into a compelling narrative, and develop visualizations for an executive audience.
Work on a range of people analytics projects related to recruiting and talent assessment, development, management, and retention.
Who We're Looking For:
A bachelor’s degree or higher and at least three years of relevant work experience analyzing data in a business setting.
Proficiency managing and analyzing data in Python required. Advanced knowledge of Excel and intermediate SQL skills are preferred.
A demonstrated foundation in statistics; experience in social science research methods is preferred.
A willingness to dive into details, collaborate effectively, and drive projects to completion, along with the ability to exercise discretion with confidential information.
Interest in generative AI and a desire to use it to improve and reimagine tools, workflows, and deliverables.
People analytics experience is preferred but not required.
The expected annual base salary for this position is $150,000 to $200,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
