The D. E. Shaw group seeks a highly organized, resourceful, proactive individual to provide exceptional administrative and operational support to senior executives at the firm. This individual will play a key role in keeping business initiatives organized and on track by anticipating needs, managing priorities, and maintaining a high degree of professionalism and judgment. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leaders across the firm in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous, and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage a broad range of responsibilities supporting both strategic and administrative needs.
Maintain complex and dynamic calendars, prioritize and triage incoming communications, and serve as a liaison with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Coordinate travel, meetings, and events with precision, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
Gain opportunities to take ownership of ad hoc projects that draw on your problem-solving skills and help you further develop key strengths.
Who We're Looking For:
At least ten years of relevant experience is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
We welcome applicants from a wide range of professional backgrounds; no prior finance experience is required. Experience in client services or other customer-focused roles is a meaningful plus.
Proven ability to learn and utilize productivity software, including Slack, Confluence, SharePoint, and adopting Generative AI into workflows; proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook) is preferred.
Keen attention to detail, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
The ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion is a must.
Executive assistants at our firm are accustomed to taking ownership of their work product and excel at working independently and as part of a team.
The expected annual base salary for this position is $130,000 to $145,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, overtime for all hours worked over 40 per week, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
