Point72’s Equity Financing team operates within the firm’s broader Treasury division, responsible for financing the firm’s multiple asset classes by interacting directly with our prime brokers to source liquidity and negotiate financing rates. The team also utilizes data analysis to identify market trends and maximize financing efficiencies. Internally, the group works closely with the execution traders, portfolio managers, Compliance, Tax, Technology, and Operations.

You will gain exposure to variety of financial instruments including equities, derivatives, bonds, foreign exchange, and futures across global markets. You will support the credit and treasury functions which requires verifying, analyzing, and when necessary, disputing margin calls and recalls, reporting on counterparty exposure, investing the firm's excess cash, and negotiating margin requirements with the firm's prime brokers and derivative counterparts.
What you’ll do
• Source hard-to-borrow securities across Asia Pacific markets to provide investment teams with timely, reliable short-side liquidity
• Negotiate financing rates and borrow availability with approved counterparties to help optimize the firm’s financing costs
• Monitor cash and synthetic positions across the region to identify opportunities to improve financing efficiency and reduce cost drag
• Deliver actionable borrow color, market intelligence, and financing analysis to portfolio managers and execution traders
• Build trusted counterparty relationships to strengthen liquidity access, improve transparency, and anticipate market changes
• Analyze treasury data to identify trends, forecast borrow constraints, and inform trading decisions in fast-moving markets
• Partner with Investmentinvestment teams, Treasury, Compliance, Technology, and Operations to resolve issues and support robust trade lifecycle processes
• Evaluate market structure, regulatory developments, and corporate activity across Asia Pacific that may affect borrow availability or financing economics
• Improve daily workflows, reporting, and controls to increase accuracy, speed, and scalability across process
What’s required
• At least 7+ years of experience in equity financing, delta one trading or a closely related trading function
• Deep understanding of Asia Pacific equity markets, securities lending mechanics, borrow dynamics, and short-side liquidity management
• Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese for direct communication with counterparties and stakeholders across the region
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret large datasets, identify financing trends, and translate insights into trading actions
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate financing terms and manage counterparty relationships in a fast-paced trading environment
• Working knowledge of applicable market practices, settlement considerations, and regulatory requirements affecting stock lending and short selling in Asia Pacific
• Clear communication skills to deliver concise market color, borrow updates, and financing recommendations to investment professionals
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with regional and global teams
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment under pressure, and ownership of time-sensitive trading and reporting responsibilities
